Why I like it: Pronounced Groo-ner Velt-lee-ner, Grüner Veltliner is Austria’s flagship white grape and one of Europe’s great food wines. Known for citrus, green apple, white pepper and mineral drive, it thrives in cool continental climates.

The Seppelt Drumborg Vineyard in Henty is one of Victoria’s most respected cool-climate sites. Planted in 1964, it has long been recognised for structured Pinot Noir and Riesling and now produces beautifully restrained Grüner Veltliner.

There is a fine acidity and savoury texture to this wine, making it exceptional with seafood and fresh, herb-driven dishes. Elegant, distinctive and quietly serious.
