Why I like it: I am so excited about this wine! Semillon,  although for some a little unfashionable now, has been in the Barossa Valley for many years and in fact many of the early great shiraz wines from winemakers like Peter Lehmann had a dash of Semillon in them. This is from a single vineyard located between the Barossa sub regions of Lyndoch and Rowland Flat. It was planted in 1919 by Franz Zerk, making it one of the oldest Semillon vineyards in the world. The family still owns it. Beautiful wine!!

Winner of 2025 Barossa Valley Wine Show - Centenarian trophy for a wine from a single vineyard more than 100 years old. This wine beat 35 other wines...most of them very expensive shiraz!
