Why I like it: 

The Deer Farm Vineyard sits in the cooler, elevated reaches of the Upper Yarra Valley and has long been one of the jewels of Coldstream Hills. Established in the early 1990s, the site consistently produces Pinot Noir of perfume, finesse and quiet power, and the Block E release highlights one of the standout parcels from the vineyard.

The 2024 vintage captures the purity that makes Upper Yarra Pinot so compelling. Bright aromas of cherry, wild strawberry and cranberry lift from the glass, supported by subtle spice, gentle oak and a faint savoury edge. The palate is silky and refined, with vibrant red fruit, fine tannins and a long, elegant finish that speaks clearly of cool-climate Yarra Valley Pinot Noir.

A beautifully balanced Pinot that will drink wonderfully now but will also reward a few years in the cellar.
